Practical training days
Generally, our On Demand courses will be able to be completed entirely online with an electronic certificate sent to you on successful completion. However, with our First Aid and Moving People Safely courses, we will require you to attend of our practical training days which will provide an invaluable ‘hands-on’ opportunity to solidify aspects of theoretical knowledge.
First Aid
You will be invited to attend an appointment slot to practice and be assessed in the practical skills required for First Aid including:
- Scene Assessment
- Primary Survey
- Recovery Position
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Choking
- Bandaging
The practical assessment will take approximately half a day and will be limited to a maximum of four people per assessment slot to allow for social distancing. Each learner will be provided with their own manikin, face and lung set to use during the assessment as well as new, individually wrapped bandages. Learners will be required to wear face marks during the practical assessment session.
Moving People Safely
You will be invited to attend an appointment slot to practice and be assessed in the practical skills required for Moving People Safely including:
- Using slide sheets to move a person
- Fitting a sling in a chair
- Fitting a sling in a bed
- Using a hoist to move a person
- Assisted sitting, standing and walking
The practical assessment will take approximately half a day and will be limited to a maximum of three people per assessment slot to allow for social distancing. Learners will be required to wear face marks during the practical assessment session.
