What will this apprenticeship cover?

We will develop you in the following key areas: Our Children, Young People and Family Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship offers a bespoke delivery plan, and mentoring by a specialist industry tutor who will shape your future on the following key areas:

  • Listen and understand what has happened to the child, young person or
    family members.
  • Identify risks and call attention to things where unsafe.
  • Identify strengths and difficulties and help prepare agreed safeguarding
    plans.
  • Provide support through changes and monitor progress.
  • Make decisions underpinned by theories, guidelines and sound practice.
  • Understand the law and know where to find information to help form creative ideas.
  • Think about things using professional judgement and analysis in complex
    situations.
  • Include people using techniques for establishing shared goals and outcomes.
  • Working with families, carers and children to devise, deliver and evaluate
    the effectiveness of interventions for the care and support of individual children and young people in residential care.
What qualification(s) will my apprentice receive?
  • Level 5 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Access to expert support and guidance.
  • Use of an innovative e-portfolio system that provides an interactive and content rich environment through which the Apprenticeship will be delivered.
  • Regular progress reviews with Apprentices and their employer.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (RQF).
  • Introduction to Independent Living Certificate.
  • Paediatric First Aid Training. Regular progress reviews with Apprentices and their employer.
